About Us
Tony Bernal has dedicated his career to training and developing medical professionals in dermatology and hair restoration. He began his medical career as a U.S. Army Combat Medic and Surgical Technician, an experience that instilled in him a rigorous work ethic and a "can-do" attitude. Following his military service, Tony worked with prominent specialists, including the Chief of Dermatology at Baylor Hospital and several MOHS surgeons. He also played a key role in establishing two successful dermatology practices in Dallas, Texas, before specializing in hair restoration.
With over 20 years of Dermatology/Mohs assisting experience and 16 years of hair transplant technician experience, Tony is a premier lead trainer for physicians and support staff globally, specializing in NeoGraft and SmartGraft automated FUE systems. He has pioneered new protocols for existing technologies, including the use of micro-punches for African American patients. To date, he has trained hundreds of medical professionals across three countries and has successfully transplanted more than one million follicular units.
Tony is the founder of The Pointman Group, where he leads a team of technicians dedicated to supporting hair restoration physicians through advanced techniques. The group emphasizes complex cases, such as scar repairs, eyebrows, beards, and corrective FUT repairs, with a mission to ensure the highest quality of care and optimal patient outcomes.
Beyond his clinical work, Tony has volunteered for the American Academy of Dermatology Skin Cancer Screening for 13 years and has held memberships in the Dermatology Nurses Association and the Association of Dermatology Administrators/Managers. A native of Dallas, Tony has been married for 36 years and enjoys traveling and golfing with his sons.
